Kernow short-listed for the London Construction Awards

Kernow Fixings are privileged to be shortlisted for the Supplier Of The Year in the London construction Awards this year – our first application of its kind and one we were humbled to be part of all the way to the finals.

The Awards had many applicants so Kernow were naturally thrilled to be shortlisted for a category we work so hard to excel at. Our values, background, distribution network and the services we offer were all taken into consideration and they found us a successful candidate – outshining many other applicants.

The London Construction Awards recognise accomplishments, expansions and revolution in the construction industry for businesses operating in London, where Kernow is increasingly developing business. For the Supplier Of The Year category, applicants were required to show they provide quality, on time, every time and Kernow were acknowledged to fulfil these requirements – thus being shortlisted.

We base customer service at the core of our business because we believe that a quality customer service experience adds value to a business. The value of our customer experience is something that we’re very proud of. We don’t just take orders and despatch them – we make sure that we are supplying the best possible brands and solutions for our customers, understanding their individual requirements and ensuring that we have done everything possible to satisfy their needs.

We feel that keeping our staff up-to-date on the latest training, products and services that Kernow offer is a key part of the makeup of our business, making sure that every time we answer the phone the customer is speaking to a trained professional who can offer solutions. Our Kernow-How is an asset that our customers really value especially when they are unsure of what it is they need themselves!

Maintaining close relationships with our suppliers is essential to Kernow’s streamlined order process and to provide a seamless experience for customers. This high level of service is extremely important to us and we’ve been known to go to many lengths to achieve this, demonstrating again to the judges, our high level of commitment to our customers.

Saving time on site is key when you have tight deadlines and budgets to stick to. Kernow understands this and reinvests in areas that help customers save time and money, we recently expanded to include an internal prefabrication workshop to produce bespoke products more quickly, enabling fast, cost effective solutions for our clients. A second warehouse expanded and doubled our stock holding capacity making even more items available for next day delivery.

Great customer service isn’t complete without the extra touches such as chocolate bars, useful branded gifts and particularly our reputably delicious Oat and Honey biscuits! We do this all year round, not just for Christmas!

It was all these things and many more that made Kernow a very worthy candidate for the London Construction Awards Supplier of the Year shortlist and we are extremely proud to have achieved this.
